“Notes of Inclusion” is an exhibit presented by four astounding artists in honor of Black History Month, with a variety of styles conducive with the theme of inclusivity. From bold color and patterns to notes of rhythm, music, and dance, the exhibit weaves a visual song resonating a message of diversity and equality among people and perspectives. James Killings Jr., V. Kottavei Williams, Courtney Brooks, and Lawrence Sullivan honor the freedom of individuality and equality in the exhibit, celebrating an open reception on Saturday, January 29, 5-7 pm, hosted by the one and only DC Connection. The “Notes of Inclusion” reception is open and free to the public, including everyone and anyone, just as it promises.

Receive additional points for downloading the “Visit Douglasville” app, answering heart questions online, submitting a flash drive with selfies or voting for the People’s Choice Award.

On Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 am, the Douglasville Police Department is holding our 2nd Annual Day of Unity on the front steps of the Douglasville Police Department. Local community leaders will be speaking about bringing the community together and listening to the people. Get involved by joining these leaders at the Douglasville Police Department as we work together to be “one with our community”. We will adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Seating will be available for the event. Open to the public.

All across the nation March is recognized as Youth Art Month, a celebration of the creativity among students in the visual arts. Youth Art Month activities connect more than 800,000 K-12 students and over 200 art educators all across America. CAC is proud to participate in this national effort and to recognize our local young artists with this exhibit. The show opens on March 3 and runs through March 25. A free opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 3 from 5-7 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet our emerging young artists, including the families and teachers who encourage them.

On Monday, March 14, the Douglasville Police Department will be hosting a Community Job Fair. This will be a job fair like no other. We are inviting all businesses in Douglasville, Douglas County, and surrounding to participate whether they are hiring for full-time, part-time, or temporary positions. Come and check out your employment options in one place. This event is open to all as we have not put any limitations on who has been invited to keep it open to the public in all walks of life.
Businesses do need to fill out information in order to have a space available. We will be taking businesses through March 8.
Monday, is a teacher work day, and this should provide a great opportunity for high schoolers to come and check out for spring/summer jobs.
